Offshore survival training specialist Survivex of Aberdeen said yesterday it was poised for major global expansion.
New offices in Dubai and Singapore were being opened after a £3.2million Bank of Scotland (BoS) loan, it added.
The funding has also allowed the company to invest in a £1.5million fire training rig, which will be used in a range of offshore and marine fire-fighting courses.
Survivex, which was founded in 2011 and employs 82 people, said it had already taken on five workers as a result of the investment and would soon be recruiting five more.
Finance director Andy Green added: “The Bank of Scotland has been incredibly supportive of Survivex as a young entrepreneurial business. The funding recognises both the faith they have in our business model and plan, alongside the successes we have had to date. Our fire rig training facilities mean that we’ll be able to deliver all of our UK training courses from our hub in Aberdeen.”
BoS area director Graham Blair said: “Survivex has rapidly built up a strong business underpinned by a strong management team and purpose-built, market-leading training facilities. Through its superb facilities and courses, the company is building a strong market share that I’m sure will continue to grow, in a sector that we expect to continue to thrive.”
