Oil and gas engineering firm Plexus Holdings said yesterday it had agreed a £2million deal with a Norwegian operator.
The Aberdeen firm said Det Norske Oljeselskap would use its technology on two exploration wells in Norwegian waters.
DetNor will be using the Pos-Grip high-pressure, high-temperature (HP/HT) wellhead system on the Maersk Giant rig, which will drill both wells within 16 months.
Plexus chief executive Ben van Bilderbeek said: “In recent months, the accelerating level of oil and gas exploration and development activity in the North Sea has been well documented.
“Plexus is already seeing evidence of this increased investment in the form of contract wins, including this award by Det Norske.
“As a result of our success to date, we are well-placed to win further repeat and new business both in the North Sea and other parts of the world.”
Alternative Investment Market-listed Plexus employs about 130 people, mainly in Aberdeen.
Oil and gas technology firm AGR said yesterday its reservoir-management expertise would be featured at an international exhibition this week.
Scott Dingwall, the company’s principal geophysicist, will give a presentation on carbon-capture and storage at the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers conference, being held in London.
