BP boss Bob Dudley has said the oil giant wants to become directly involved in challenging onshore oil ventures with Russian energy firm Rosneft.
Mr Dudley said BP, now a major shareholder in Rosneft, would target onshore projects rather than Arctic development with the state producer.
Meanwhile, Mr Dudley has also said the British operator is mulling a lower target for peak output at Iraq’s most prolific field, Rumaila.
Mr Dudley said the Iraqi Government had asked BP to lower the target, with one set of scenarios ranging from 1.7million to 2.4million barrels of oil per day (bpd). TheĀ current target sits atĀ 2.85million bpd.
