Statoil has halted production on its Åsgard field after suffering a gas leak for the second time in little more than a week.
An automatic shutdown was triggered on the platform at 8.30pm on Tuesday after a gas leak, reports Stavanger Aftenbladet.
Most of the 83 crew on board were evacuated to lifeboats for 20 minutes while the leak was fixed.
The news comes just days after Statoil was forced to temporarily shut down the Oseberg field centre because of a gas alarm.
