Max Petroleum says it has spudded another appraisal well for the Uytas Field in Kazakhstan.
The UTS-11 well, which is being drilled by the Zhanros ZJ-20 rig, is the second in a 13-well programme the company is conducting at the field.
The firm said it would drill to a depth of 450m looking for reservoirs in the central portion of the field as it continued to appraise the field.
Last month the company’s first well in the field failed to produce insufficient commercial hydrocarbons and was plugged.
