Aberdeen-based Reservoir Group has acquired Canadian well installation firm Planet Services in a six-figure deal.
The Calgary-based firm will see its eight staff join Reservoir’s Omega Well Monitoring Canada subsidiary following the deal.
Planet had previously provided installation services for OWMC on projects around the world before being brought in-house.
“Omega has developed a strong relationship with Planet Services over the years,” said Fraser Louden, managing director of specialist well services at Reservoir.
“The expertise and know-how it has demonstrated throughout that time made it a naturally strong fit for the company as it continues to grow our installation offering within both in Canada and internationally through the global Reservoir infrastructure and customer network.”
The deal expands OWMC’s offering into installation and servicing, after previously being a sales-driven arm.
Planet chief executive Matt Johnson said: “We are delighted to be joining the team and allowing Omega to offer a more holistic service to its clients by pairing its innovative expertise with our experience and know-how in the installation services arena.”
