Gazprom has drawn up a list of potential partners with whom it could work on a proposed new liquefied natural gas plant in the Baltic Sea, the Russian giant has announced.
The first line of the Baltic LNG plant is due to be launched by the end of 2018, supplying supply European and Latin American markets.
Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom’s deputy chairman, said the company has confirmed the final conditions for cooperation on the project.
“We will soon begin talks with potential partners who appear on our list,” he said.
“If we can agree on the terms we are open to international cooperation.”
The partners will hold 49% of stakes in the project. Medvedev maintains that Gazprom could complete the project alone, but chose the partnership model to lower investment risk.
