Kazakhstan-focused exploration company Max Petroleum says it has been given the go-ahead to put the Borkyldakty field into full development.
The field, which was discovered three years ago, contains 28m of net oil pay and has two productive wells so far.
The company said regulatory approval will allow it to sell 80% of the crude oil on the export market, with the well currently capable of of producing around 200boed.
A third well is planned for the field next month.
