The £10million rebuild of a key LPG plant’s loading facility in Kurdistan has been completed by Dana Gas.
The Middle East-based gas company, along with partner Crescent Petroleum, was forced to carry out a major rebuild of the loading and dispatch facilities at the Kor Mor plant in the Kurdistan area of Iraq following an accident last year.
Now work has been completed on the loading facilities, which will allow the plant to produce up to 900 tonnes of LPG a day.
One person was killed and four injured after a road tanker exploded at the plant last June.
Safety improvements have now been made to the plant, which has been open since 2008.
“The gas we produce has enabled billions of dollars of fuel cost savings for the government, and major economic and social benefits for the region as a whole,” said Crescent chief executive Majid Jafar.
