GDF Suez is to target France’s offshore renewables market after signing an agreement to bid for the next wind tender.
The company said it has signed an agreement with EDP Renewables and AREVA over a public tender for two projects generating up to 1,000MW.
The companies, which are to partner with Areva over design and cosntruction of the turbines, are looking to land tenders for the 500MW offshore project act Le Treport, and a further one off the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier.
A bid for the projects is to be submitted by the end of November, with a decision by the French Government in 2014.
