US-focused oil firm Nighthawk says production from its wells in the Denver-Julesburg basin is now running at more than 1,650boed.
The company, which last week bought out the remaining 25% stake of its interests in the Smoky Hill and Jolly Ranch projects from Running Petroleum, now has five wells in production in the Arikaree Creek field.
Production at the Snowbird 9-15 and Silverton 16-10 wells resumed, with pumping rates being kept deliberately low initially following a temporary shutdown for repairs at Silverton earlier this month.
Both wells have prodded water along with the oil, though Nighthawk said the levels were within disposal capacities.
Now the company is to look at new commercial targets in Pennsylvania and further work in Colorado after acquiring new 2D seismic data.
“We are pleased with the increase in production, particularly as it has coincided with exceptionally good Colorado oil prices of over US$90/bbl, and as the new wells settle down we anticipate further increases over the next couple of months,” said chairman Stephen Gutteridge.
