Renewable energy consultancy Natural Power is set for expansion after revealing plans to open a new office in Stirling later this year.
The new base will see 90 staff transferring to the town as the company looks to increase its staffing numbers across the central belt over the next two years, with up to 50 new jobs being created over the next 24 months.
The company, which will continue to operate its headquarters at Castle Douglas, already employs more than 250 people around the world.
“Natural Power has been operating in the Central Belt for a number of years now, and due to continued success and growth we have decided to establish a large base for our growing business in Stirling,” said managing director Ted Leeming.
“The office will accommodate some 140 renewable energy experts servicing the onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, marine and biomass sectors.
“Our iconic headquarters, The Green House, remains the company’s centre of excellence with Stirling acting as our Project Base allowing easier exposure to clients.”
The new office will provide planning, development, asset management and technical services for renewable energy providers and developers.
“This is another great example of a Scottish renewable energy company generating new jobs and opportunities to local communities across the Central Belt at this difficult time for the wider economy,” said Scottish Renewables chief Niall Stuart.
“It is a significant announcement for the industry because it’s another clear sign that the renewable energy sector is spreading the benefits of its own growth.”
