Second-quarter losses at Norwegian oil firm Det norske more than doubled compared to the first three months of 2013.
The company, which said it was taking steps to finance development of the Ivar Aasen and Johan Sverdrup fields, made a NOK41million ($6.95million) loss for the second quarter of the year, compared to a NOK20million the previous quarter.
However the figures marked a year-on-year improvement after last year’s NOK217million loss last year.
Exploration expenses were down year on year to NOK217million, but up NOK37million on the first quarter of the year, while production was significantly up to an average of 5,613 barrels of oil equivalent per day after the Jette field came on stream in May.
