The Princess Royal will be among an estimated 50,000 delegates attending the Offshore Europe (OE) conference in Aberdeen next month.
Princess Anne will visit the exhibition to attend a Women in Industry event, to be held on the third day of the four-day show.
She will be joined by a host of UK and Scottish ministers at OE, which starts at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Tuesday, September 3.
On the eve of the biennial conference First Minister Alex Salmond will give a speech to industry and civic leaders in the Townhouse, while UK Trade Minister Lord Green, Energy Minister Michael Fallon and Business Secretary Vince Cable are among the exhibition speakers.
Scotland’s energy minister, Fergus Ewing will take part in two sessions, while one unnamed UK minister will give the opening address to kick off the event.
Malcolm Webb, chairman of this year’s conference and chief executive of industry body Oil and Gas UK, said: “The UK is a recognised centre of excellence in the global offshore oil and gas industry with its central hub located in and around…Aberdeen.
“Hence it is fitting not only that this major conference and exhibition is based here, but also that it has the support and involvement of so many leading figures from industry and government.”
More than 1,500 exhibitors will take part in OE, now in its 40th year.
