Thai national oil firm PTTEP says it has successfully found gas in its appraisal wells off Myanmar.
Drilling in the M3 block, in which PTTEP has an 80% stake as operator, produced gas in all four appraisal wells at Aung Sinkha 3-6.
Flow tests resulted in 34.5million standard cubic feet per day for well 3, 14million for well six and nine million for well 5.
The company said it failed to flow gas from the remaining well, however, as it did not have equipment for acidizing limestone reservoirs.
PTTEP said it expects condensate flow rates of more than 2000 barrels per day from its wells. Further drilling will take place next year ahead of potential production from the site.
