Oil output from the Bashneft and Lukoil joint venture in Russia is tipped to hit 300,000 tons by the end of the year after test production got underway on the field.
The Trebs and Titov fields in Nenets has seen 12 old exploration wells reactivated, with three new ones completed and a further two currently being drilled.
The move comes after the completion of a central gathering plant and a 31km pipeline from the Trebs facility to a delivery station at Varandey.
Commercial production from the site is expected by 2016, with total output expected to hit 4.8million tons a year by 2020.
