Caribbean oil explorer Trinity has suspended work on the east coast of Trinidad after technical problems.
The company, which today posted a $1.8million pre-tax profit, said power generation problems with its platforms on the Trintes field had already delayed its drilling programme on the eastern side of the island.
“The company has recently taken the decision to suspend drilling operations following completion of the B11 sidetrack so that Rig 2 mud systems can be upgraded and further steps implemented to improve operating efficiency,” the company said in a statement.
“Drilling operations will recommence in November 2013 and Trinity expects to complete one development well before the end of the year.”
The company, set up by Venture Productions founder Bruce Dingwall, has seen production on the field is down 34% since the company took it over, with its production guidance revised down from 5000 to between 4200 and 4500boepd for the year.
