Plans for the USA’s largest windfarm have been revealed.
The 190 square mile project on Texas’ South Plains would see as many as 650 wind turbines being built by Dallas-based Tri Global Energy.
The Hale Community Energy partnership would see the project controlled by more than 450 partners, bringing four separate smaller wind-energy projects from the region into a supersized farm.
The proposed development, which would be capable of generating 1.1Gw of energy, would begin operation by 2015, with a final completion date for the full project of mid-2018.
