Engineering group Kentz has landed a contract to provide commissioning and start-up services for a Canadian steam-assisted oil recovery project.
The group will support Bantrel’s steam-assisted gravity draining scheme, which uses steam to heat the oil and allow it to be drained out, at their operation near Fort McMurray.
The deal will see Kentz providing motor and electrical testing, along with supporting callibration and instruments for the project.
“This is an important award for Kentz as it positions the company as a premier industrial commissioning contractor in Western Canada,” said the firm’s technical services chief operating officer Mike Murphy.
“This is our first contract with Bantrel and we look forward to developing a positive long term relationship with them.”
