Cyberhawk Innovations, which specialises in remotely operated aerial vehicles (ROAVs) used by the oil and gas industry, has appointed former SSE chief executive Ian Marchant as a non-executive director.
Mr Marchant is also a senior non-executive director at Aberdeen-based energy service firm Wood Group and chairman of the Energy Institute.
Livingston-based Cyberhawk told the Press and Journal his experience would “greatly assist the company as its innovative services become widely adopted in the oil and gas, renewable-energy and utilities sectors”.
The appointment builds on Cyberhawk’s recent £1.25million inward investment, led by Scottish Equity Partners alongside the Scottish Investment Bank. Aubrey Thompson, the firm’s chairman, said: “We are now strengthening the board to give us greater insight into our customer needs and expectations.
“Ian’s decision to join … as a non-executive director is a huge vote of confidence from someone who is recognised nationally and internationally as a leader in the energy industry.”
