Aberdeen Journals’ editor-in-chief Damian Bates is to deliver the keynote speech at this year’s Oil & Gas UK Awards.
The awards ceremony, which will be held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 7, will celebrate the brightest starts in the offshore industry.
Last month the finalists for this year’s awards were revealed, with a host of companies and individuals in the running for the five categories.
Mr Bates will share his view on the oil and gas industry and its progress at the speech. He was named editor-in-chief for Aberdeen Journals, which publishes Energy Voice, earlier this year, having edited the Press and Journal since March 2011.
“We look forward to honouring the talent, dedication and achievement of some of the extraordinary people who make our industry great,” said Oil & Gas UK chief executive Malcolm Webb.
“The Press and Journal is amongst the most expert and respected of newspapers reporting on our sector and so we are delighted this year to welcome its editor Damian Bates to be our guest of honour and deliver the keynote address.”
