Asian-focused exploration firm Salamander Energy has spudded a new well on the West Kerendan field in Indonesia.
The WK-1 well, in central Kalimantan, is targeting two possible gas plays in the field, one with a potential 330billion cubic feet of gas and the other at Sungai Lahei with as much as 580 billion cubic feet.
The company said it was also looking at possible further gas and oil finds within the area with the wells, which are being drilled by the DrillCo-1 rig to a depth of 4,250m.
