An Aberdeen oil services firm says its focused on strengthening its market position as it celebrates four decades in the UK industry.
Bilfinger Salamis UK marked its 40th anniversary today, after originally launching as a painting and blasting company.
“Considering that when we set up in 1973, oil production hadn’t actually started in Aberdeen, with platforms still being engineered, it’s wonderful to see how our company has grown alongside the energy industry in the North-east,” said Murray Strachan, strategic development director at Bilfinger Salamis.
“We have some exciting new service developments, and plans to strengthen our market position over the next 12 months, and well into the future.
Since its launch, Salamis extended its portfolio of offshore services through contracts with Shell, BP, Chevron and Wood Group, including the provision of industry-approved training courses.
The company renamed in March this year, following an acquittal by Blifinger Industrial Services in 2006.
