Asset integrity management specialist XPD8 Solutions is setting up a new unit to be known as reliability solutions.
The Aberdeen energy service firm, now in its 10th year, expects the department to be running during the current quarter.
XPD8 has not said what the jobs potential might be.
From a one-person start-up venture 10 years ago, the firm has grown to a workforce of 50 people.
Turn-over in its first year of operation was £250,000, compared with a figure of £5.86million for 2012.
Reliability solutions has been set up to provide clients with improvements in the performance of maintenance personnel and equipment.
The department will provide audits and analysis of reliability and maintenance of existing activities, training of maintenance personnel and supervisors, resident reliability engineers to work onshore and offshore and a technology platform to facilitate defect elimination.
A new reliability management system has also been introduced specifically for the offshore environment. Suitable for greenfield and brownfield developments, drilling and production, the package is designed to protect from hydrocarbon releases, unexpected corrosion, repeat defects, expensive repairs and failures of safety critical equipment.
The system can help to minimise unplanned downtime and threats to maximum production.
XPD8 is a privately-owned company which provides skilled engineers for all areas of the data development process.
