Artificial lift specialists, Paul Shotter and Andrew Leitch, have just launched a new international oilfield business, Multilift Wellbore Technology (Multilift).
Headquartered in Aberdeen the company intends to provide specialist completion tools and services to the artificial lift market; which its proponents say is the fastest growing sector in the oil industry.
Between them Shotter and Leitch have logged 50 years of experience, in particular specialising in the artificial lift sector of downhole tooling for ESP (electric submersible pump) deployment. They claim a “solid track record of demonstrable success”.
Indeed Shotter is regarded as a pioneer of dual ESP (two pumps down a well) systems.
Multilift has been launched as a global brand at the outset, offering products, systems and services to international users delivered through an international network.
Starter-pack products include a system dubbed SandGuard and a range of artificial lift companion tools designed to prolong ESP performance life and AL operations.
As its name implies SandGuard is designed to protect downhole pumps from the damaging effect of producing from wells containing large amounts of sand.
Though headquartered in Aberdeen, Multilift has its manufacturing base in Germany. The base at Ronnenberg is equipped with a 50m (160ft) test well and full assembly pressure test facilities.
The facility is just four hours from Rotterdam, so offering fast access to international freighters, which significantly reduces transport times and, apparently, costs to international markets.
Shotter, who is MD, said: “Multilift’s vision is to establish a global brand which will be recognised for supplying world class oilfield products and services.
“We aim to compete with, and beat, other suppliers on a global basis to provide irresistible benefits for end users. SandGuard, our new sand protection tool, has already generated much excitement in the market and we are convinced of its benefit to ESPs users.
“Multilift has already received a positive response from the market and we have already received significant orders from South America, the Middle East and the North Sea.
“We are now established in Aberdeen and Germany and continuing to develop our international network.”
