Omega Completion Technology has promoted John Donachie to the role of managing director as the company plans to boost the number of people it employs by a third.
Mr Donachie joined the Aberdeen-headquartered company last year as corporate development manager and has been tasked with growing the business to a turnover of £12million next year.
The independent well-completion firm employs 60 people at its 21,000sq ft office and workshop in Kirkhill Industrial Estate. It plans to recruit a further 20 in coming months.
The company is experiencing a surge in demand from major operators in the Middle East, where it has secured more than £1million of new business in the last six months.
Mark Buyers, who remains chief executive of Omega, said: “We have invested heavily in developing and manufacturing new technologies in response to global oil and gas production challenges and believe that John’s appointment will help to propel our growth at home and overseas.”
