Aberdeen-based oil and gas industry training body Opito has announced the full line up of speakers for its international safety competency conference in Abu Dhabi next week.
Shell’s vice president in Iraq, Hans Nijkamp, will join United Arab Emirates energy minister Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Taqa managing director Leo Koot and Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management chief executive Richard Cregan at the conference on November 19th.
OSCC 2013 will explore how a global approach to training standards, frameworks, qualifications and quality assurance can add value to the work palce and what it means for individual employees.
In his keynote speech, Opito chief executive David Doig will explain how the organisation is leading the way in achieving common global training standards.
“I believe we have secured a real depth and cross section of knowledge for our speakers’ panel at this year’s conference,” said Mr Doig.
“The focus of this year’s conference is firmly on competence and will provide the audience with a detailed insight into how to build an effective competence and safety management system that is flexible in nature so it works for the business, the environment and, most importantly, helps people go to work and come home safely.”
