A leading Aberdeen academic is to join offshore technology firm Amor Energy on secondment.
Laura Muir, a senior lecturer at Robert Gordon University’s department of information management, will join the solutions firm for an initial one-year spell.
The move comes following a two-year partnership between the firm and the university which was part-funded by the technology strategy board.
“As well as contributing to Amor I intend to learn from the experience and take back valuable industry knowledge to RGU,” said Dr Muir.
“There will be long-term benefits to both Amor and the university. Building bridges between academia and industry is hugely important in order to improve opportunities for applied research and develop new opportunities for industry-focused skills and training..”
