Offshore accommodation firm Prosafe has landed a £61million deal to provide support for BP’s North Sea operations as it looks to extend the life of the Eastern Trough.
The 13-month deal will see Prosafe providing accommodation support for the Eastern Trough Area Project, around 240km east of Aberdeen.
The Safe Caledonia will provide on-site accommodation services for the project, which is currently being served through a central processing facility linked to an accommodation platform.
The deal will also see Prosafe offering three one-month options and a 14-day options, up to July 2015.
“This is a significant investment in the provision of a facility that will enable us to extend the life of this valuable North Sea asset,” said BO regional president Trevor Garlick.
“The additional accommodation space will allow BP and its partners to increase activity aimed at enhancing production efficiency, improving plant reliability and maximising the recovery of oil and gas from our reservoirs.”
The existing accommodation has capacity for 111 personnel, with the Safe Caledonia providing space for a further 454 beds, nine offices and 78 workstations.
