The daughter of Sodexo founder Pierre Bellon has been named as the company’s new vice chairman – as the offshore services firm begins the succession process.
Sophie Bellon is being lined up to replace her octogenarian father at the head of the French firm, having previously been managing director of its corporate operations in the country.
Mr Bellon, who founded the firm in 1966, wanted one of his four children to replace him, but did not wish to pick – instead leaving the evalation process up to them.
She was the unanimous choice of a panel of board members.
The company said Ms Bellon would replace her father in January 2016, with current chief executive Pierre Landel to remain at the helm.
“Through her different functions, she has developed an extensive knowledge of the group, its clients and its teams,” the company said.
