Services group Amec has landed a £158million contract to provide engineering and management for a trio of Kuwaiti oil refineries.
The five year contract follows from a previous deal to support the Kuwait National Petroleum Company since 2007, and includes a further one-year extension option.
It will see Amec providing engineering and management services for the Mina Al Ahmadi, Mina Abdullah and Shuaiba refineries in the Middle East.
“These refineries and KNPC’s local marketing assets are strategically significant in Kuwait’s energy security and in providing revenues from their hydrocarbons exports,” said Amec operations director Alan Armstrong.
The company will undertake training of local engineers, along with feasibility studies, front end engineering design work and project consultancy, along with call-off work for KPNC.
