Caribbean-focused explorer Trinity has begun drilling work on its El Dorado prospect as it looks to uncover up to 13million barrels of oil.
The well, off the west coat of Trinidad and close to the Brighton field, is being drilled by the WS-152 jackup rig.
“Together with our TGAL-1 exploration well on the East Coast, the company is currently drilling two independent exploration wells,” said Trinity chief executive Monty Pemberton.
“As the El Dorado prospect is located very close to our existing production infrastructure the well, on success, can be tied back to our recently refurbished MP-8 platform and put onto a long-term production test.”
