Renewable electricity supplier Good Energy Group has been granted planning consent for a 5MW solar farm in Dorset.
The announcement follows similar news in October, when the company’s plans for a 8.5MW solar farm in Cornwall were approved, and brings its total provision of solar energy in England up to 83MW to date.
“This site will not only help Dorset achieve its renewable energy targets, but will also see benefits to local people via a community fund and the surrounding environment with a bespoke ecological plan,” said Juliet Davenport, Good Energy’s chief executive.
“It will also help Good Energy deliver its commitment to greater energy security and stability in the UK.”
The project is set to be built later next year.
