Aberdeen-based Cortez Subsea has landed a £600,000 contract in Ghana – marking the company’s first move into West Africa.
The firm will perform pipeline inspection and commissioning activities using a work class ROV for Microperi Marine Contractors.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve made a significant investment in new equipment, technologies and staff ensuring we have the workforce and systems in place to respond to customers’ needs quickly and cost-effectively anywhere in the world,” said managing director Alasdair Cowie.
“The scope of work in Ghana not only demonstrates our capabilities in the deep water environment but also enables us to strengthen our on-going relationship with Microperi Marine Contractors and develop our technical expertise and abilities in the burgeoning West Africa region.”
Cortez Subsea was formed in 2010 and achieved a turnover of more than £3million in 2012.
The company provides a range of subsea services and products to UK and international clients in the offshore energy industry. It specialises in installation, inspection, intervention and decommissioning work.
