Danish energy giant Dong is to take over development of the UK’s Race Bank wind farm after striking a £50million deal with Centrica.
The windfarm, which was given the go-ahead last year, will generate enough electricty to power 450,000 homes once completed.
Centrica had overseen the project through the planning and front end engineering design phase, with Dong Energy now taking it it forward.
“This transaction marks the next step in the development of the Race Bank wind farm,” said Centrica managing director Mark Hanafin.
“We are pleased that the project will continue to progress towards a final investment decision.”
