Technip has landed its largest ever contract for project management consultancy services in Kuwait.
The energy giant has been awarded a five-year contract worth £245 million, with the option to extend for one year, with the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
Technip will be responsible for project management and engineering services for the construction of new oil and gas infrastructure as well as the upgrade of existing facilities.
Work will mainly be carried out by Technip’s teams in an operating centre created specifically for the contract, based at KOC’s headquarters in Ahmadi, Kuwait.
Technip’s operating centre in Milton Keynes will carry out feasibility studies and front-end engineering and design for the contract.
To handle these type of contracts, Techip has formed a new division to focus on project management consultancy services, named as Technip PMC.
“We are proud to have been awarded this contract by KOC,” said senior vice president for Technip PMC Riccardo Moizo.
“This award establishes Technip as one of the top-tier project management consultancy companies worldwide. It has been fuelled notably by skills and assets gained from the acquisition of Stone & Webster process technologies in 2012.”
