The company behind a Gulf of Mexico rig which blew out following a gas leak received $50million (£30million) in insurance compensation.
The Hercules 265 jackup rig partially collapsed after it caught fire from a gas leak at the South Timbalier well off Louisiana on July 23 this year.
All 44 members of its crew were evacuated safely and no oil was spilled.
Following the payment on December 20, Hercules Offshore estimated an insurance gain of approximately $31million in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The company is also still negotiating insurance recovery for costs related to the salvage of the rig and other losses.
