Sub-Saharan Africa-focused exploration company Cap Energy has upped estimates for its Guinea-Bissau assets.
The company today confirmed that independent interpretation of seismic for Blocks 1 and 5B, offshore Guinea-Bissau, confirms the potential of the blocks.
The data, which was analysed by Beicip-Franlab, suggests Block 5B has mean recoverable resources of up to 608 million barrels of oil.
Beicip-Franlab is currently carrying out an evaluation of the Block 1 seismic data, with full results due soon.
Cap Energy has a 30% interest in each of the blocks, which are operated by Atlantic Petroleum Guinea-Bissau Limited.
