Aker Solutions has named the former director of global subsea operations at FMC Technologies as its new boss in the UK.
Currie, who will return to Scotland from USA, will oversee the energy industry engineering group’s operations in Aberdeen, along with the bases in Stockton-on-Tees and London.
The Aberdeen University graduate has been working with FMC Technologies for almost 30 years, most recently as their director of global subsea operations in Houston.
“David is an oil industry veteran with a significant track record in developing successful businesses,” said Aker Solutions chairman Øyvind Eriksen.
“His experience in the subsea and energy sectors will be a huge asset in developing Aker Solutions in the UK and beyond.”
Currie will take up his new post as one of four regional presidents with Aker on January 20.
