Australian exploration company Baraka Energy & Resources Ltd has launched disputes over work programmes with Statoil Australia Theta and Petrofrontier.
The firm has given notices to the two companies over the validity of the 2014 work programmes on the EP127 and EP128 permits, located in the Southern Georgina play in Australia’s Northern Territory.
The permits are operated by Statoil, which holds a 60% interest, with Baraka holding 25% and Petrofrontier the remaining 15%.
The dispute for each joint operating agreement (JOA) will be resolved via arbitration.
Baraka has given notice that it will not contribute to its costs and it will dilute its 25% participating interest in each, if contrary to its assertions the work programmes are found valid.
