Offshore drilling services provider Transocean has landed a new North Sea drilling contract worth around £29million.
In a fleet status report for its offshore drilling rigs, Transocean said the GSF Arctic III rig has been awarded a two-well contract in the UK North Sea.
The dayrate for the rig is around £250,000 – up from around £208,000 previously – with an estimated backlog worth around £29million.
The firm also confirmed the Sedco Energy and Transocean Marianas ultra-deepwater and deepwater floaters were idle, while its high-specification jackup rig – GSF Monitor – which was previously idle, is now up for sale.
Transocean said estimated 2013 out of service time had increased by a net 25 days, while the estimate for 2014 has increased by two days.
