Two people have died and a further worker has been injured after an accident at Essar Power’s facility near Jamnagar in India.
The contractors were working on a boiler at the 1,200MW Salaya thermal power plant, close to the company’s oil refinery complex, when the accident happened this morning.
“There was an incident leading to fatality of two contractual workers and injury to another one, who was then rushed to the hospital,” a spokesman for the Indian energy giant said.
“We are investigating the cause of the incident and currently are focussed on providing proper medical care to the injured.”
