A new skills and training event in Norwich will look to ease entry into the oil, gas and renewables industries for workers in the region.
The skills and training event, which is part of the East of England Energy Group’s SNS2014 conference, is aimed at students looking at higher and further education options.
Up to 100 students and lecturers are expected at the event, at the Norfolk Showground in March.
“The energy industry urgently needs recruits for the future but we often hear from young people who want to join but struggle to find the best route to suit their needs and abilities,” said speaker Celia Anderson.
“Our event will tackle the issues at a very personal level both from the students’ point of view and from industry leaders.
Industry figures and students who are part of the Energy Skills Foundation programme will also be speaking at the event.
