The potential of new technology for transforming the renewables sector is to be the main focus of a new energy conference.
The event, organised by East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), will be held at OrbisEnergy – a purpose built business centre for the renewable energy industry in Lowestoft next week.
The conference will feature presentations by technology companies, including Glasgow-based Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, offshore wind market intelligence GROW and marine science specialists Cefas.
The event promises to provide information on current practical applications of innovative technologies, including Thornton Bank, the world’s first industrial scale offshore wind farm using 6MW turbines, as well as expert advice and support to regional businesses.
“All together, it is a unique opportunity to find out what can and is happening in our sector and where to find support and funding to grow a business,” said Johnathan Reynolds, business development lead for OrbisEnergy.
“The East of England is leading the UK’s offshore renewable energy industry and supporting companies to create new ideas, accelerate technology development and exploit new innovations.
“This event lets us examine and progress it all under one roof.”
The event takes place on Tuesday, February 18 and attendance can be booked via the EEEGR website.
