Aberdeen-based Technip Offshore Wind has been appointed a preferred contractor for a major windfarm off the coast of Fife.
Mainstream Renewable Power has named a consortium between Technip and Marubeni as the preferred contractor for construction of the Neart na Gaoithe windfarm, around 10 miles off the coast of Fife.
Last month, the Irish developer said preliminary construction work for the 450MW project, which is expected to power more than 325,000 homes, would start later this year.
Siemens Wind is the preferred supplier of wind turbines for the scheme.
