A record number of energy industry professionals are set to attend next month’s Offshore Achievement Awards in Aberdeen.
Now in its 28th year, the awards aim to recognise individual achievements, contribution to the offshore industry and collaborative working.
Awards organiser – the Aberdeen section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers – says it expects a record number of attendees to the event following the introduction of two new categories and an increased number of entries.
The shortlist was revealed in January, with a host of north-east companies in the running for the awards.
The winner of last year’s young professional award, Graham Skinner, said: “Since winning, I have moved on to new challenges within the industry and proudly place my Offshore Achievement Award win at the top of my CV.”
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday March 20 at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre.
Winners will be presented their unique award trophies – designed by Robert Gordon University student Kayleigh Cummings – by UK comedian Sean Lock, team captain on comedy panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats.
