Global oil and gas services provider Petrofac has secured a $21million front end engineering design (FEED) contract on the Abu Dhabi Bab field.
The deal with the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) will cover enhancing aspects of the onshore field, located 150 km south-west of Abu Dhabi city, for its future development and expansion and is due for completion early this year.
“This FEED complements the substantial engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts that we are engaged in for ADCO and further deepens our relationship with an important customer,” said Craig Muir, managing director of Petrofac’s engineering and consulting services division.
“It is also of strategic significance that we are demonstrating our competitive profile in the Middle East at the early stages of a project’s development.”
The announcement comes after the firm published its end-of-year report, highlighting the record backlog of new and extended contracts carried into this year.
