A Texas business district is looking to lure in new Granite City partners via an annual linkup event next week.
The Aberdeen-Houston Gateway, which will host a number of speakers from the private sector, economic development organisations and academia, will stress the similarities between the two cities in order to explore business opportunities available for each side.
“Houston and Aberdeen have very strong ties. Because our economies are so similar it makes sense for us to make business here,” said Regina Lindsey, chief development officer at Greenspoint – a business district in north Houston.
The March 4 event will be the second live linkup between the two cities, attracting almost double the amount of delegates than a year ago, Lindsey said.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to open dialogue across the pond in a real-time atmosphere and really talk through some of the same challenges, to help each other so to speak.”
