Aberdeen-based safety systems design specialist Process Safety Solutions has launched an engineering consultancy division.
PSS Engineering Consultants will offer oil and gas clients early front end engineering design (EFEED), front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, project support, commissioning and As-Building.
PSS predicts turnover to reach around £850,000 in its first year, with turnover at the parent firm predicted to be more than £3million for 2014.
“PSS Engineering Consultants was set up as a direct response to our clients demand for quality control and instrumentation engineering services,” said PSS founder David Green.
“PSS has always offered safety system engineering consultancy as part of its suite of services, so the inclusion of control and instrumentation design services on a global scale is a natural progression for our ambitious team.”
He said the company would be looking to expand its core team of engineers to 40 over the next year, with at least 20 consultants located in clients’ engineering teams in Aberdeen alone.
“Oil companies are continuously striving to reduce their overall operating costs and streamline their engineering processes,” added Green.
“Our engineering consultants manage every aspect of projects themselves, thus removing the costly overheads often associated with detailed design delivery.”
