Oilfield services group Schlumberger has been awarded the fracture programme for the horizontal Cambay 77H well in India by operator Oilex.
The drilling of the well started earlier this month and is expected to reach its total depth of 2357 metres in early April.
The development programme for the well consists of four stages with two fracture initiation points in each stage representing eight fractures in a 350 metre lateral section, Oilex said in a statement.
Following the frack isolation plugs between the four sections will be removed and the well’s flow will be rested for potential commercial production.
“Schlumberger is a well-known and experienced service contractor for fracture stimulation work around the world and have an extensive fleet of equipment and capable personnel in India,” said Ron Miller, Oilex managing director.
“Although awarded after the spud of Cambay-77H, the schedule for the fracture stimulation work will align to the drilling programme as Cambay 77H is currently being directionally drilled to the 9 5/8 inch casing point.”
